Business Start-Up Tips
1) Do what you love. Ask yourself what is it you like to do. Will you still enjoy doing this a few years from now?
2) Start your business while you’re still employed. This will allow you the luxury of time - and income.

3) A support system is necessary - someone, to bounce ideas off and offer criticism if needed.
4) Network, Network, Network. Line up clients ASAP.
6) Get professional help from an accountant, bookkeeper and/or attorney
7) Write a business plan if you anticipate the need for funding and insurance. This will also put your ideas into focus.
8) Get the money lined up. Save up if you have to. Approach potential investors and lenders. Figure our your financial fall-back plan. Don’t expect to start a business and then walk into a bank and get money. Traditional lenders don’t like new ideas and don’t like businesses without proven track records.
9) Always be professional. Order your business cards, post cards, stationary, etc. This sets a good example of the way you conduct business. Also...be polite!
10) Study-up on the tax issues you may face. Don't let this surprise you months down the road.
